The end of August is a time that I have come to love. It’s a time I celebrate a lot of things – the day I met David five years ago, the day he asked me to marry him two years ago, and the day I became his wife one year ago today.
I started out the day with some quiet and loving kindness, thanks to a travelling Buddhist Relics exhibit in Regina. It was a beautiful thing to see, and I am always touched by the beauty of buddhist philosophy. I consciously took a few deep breaths, closed my eyes, and thought about how truly thankful I am for all the blessings in my life.
Tonight, we are celebrating by having pasta and a special bottle of wine that we put away a year ago (the same winery featured at our engagement dinner in Penticton). And, to top it all off, we are watching Fear the Walking Dead premiere on tv. While I start the day with zen, I plan to end it with zombies!
Tomorrow, we are kicking off our vacation to Penticton! We drive to Canmore tomorrow, and then spend a glorious week in Penticton, visiting wineries, enjoying fantastic food… and I can’t wait to cheer David on in his Challenge Penticton triathlon next Sunday!
