On my last day in Buenos Aires, I walked around Buenos Aires with these lovely ladies – Bonnie and Sue. We had a great time checking out the San Telmo neighbourhood, and then back to the main Avenida de Mayo, where we wandered back in time at the charming Cafe Tortoni.
When we arrived at Cafe Tortoni, reportedly the oldest cafe in Buenos Aires, we were met with a red carpet and a greeter, who asked us to wait outside until they were ready to seat us. It didn’t take long, only a few minutes.
Once inside, I really oohed and awwed about this place! It’s been kept in immaculate condition and takes you back to another time – the decor and the service.
As I sipped on my cappuccino americano and reflected on the trip with my travel mates, and started to think about heading to the airport for home, I was really happy to have stumbled upon Cafe Tortoni. It as the perfect last stop in Buenos Aires!
