After a walk around the Waterfront in our first hours in Vancouver, we wandered into an oasis of cool. The Lobby Bar at the beautiful Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel is a fantastic place to relax and get into holiday mode.
The ambience is really chill – loved the beautiful flowers, white decor and bamboo accents. We also loved watching Moonraker behind the sushi bar!
The drink menu is very interesting. I chose a Fire at the Pisco – like a Pisco Sour but with a bit of spice. David had the Fairmont Old Fashioned. Both very enjoyable.
For food, we were handed a complimentary bowl of popcorn with an interesting spice shake. We also chose a great sushi roll that felt very Vancouver – two types of salmon and an interesting foam on top. Delicious.
With live music, it’s a real treat, and we were lucky to enjoy a wonderful duo for over an hour entertaining us with old standards, 70’s hits and even a Prince song thrown in for good measure. I always find I am one of the only people in a lounge who claps for the entertainment after each song. They are working hard and deserve it! As we left, the lovely singer thanked us for coming. Yep, Dave and I are a great crowd!
