Mexican food requires tasty guacamole. In my opinion guacamole should share most of the ingredients of a good salsa. If I’m making this there’s a real good chance that I’m making salsa too so I’ll cut up a pile of tomatoes, onions, green peppers and cilantro. I’ll have all that stuff on the cutting board and throw the guacamole and salsa together at the same time. Another thing that’s a must in my guacamole is cumin. That flavour turns ordinary guacamole into extraordinary guacamole.


3 Avacados – chopped
1 tomato – seeded and chopped
1/2 Bermuda onion – chopped
1/4 Green pepper – chopped
1/2 cup cilantro – chopped
1 Tsp ground cumin
1/2 Tsp chilli flakes
1/2 Tsp garlic powder
Zest of 1 lime
splash of red wine vinegar


Cut the avocados in half and remove the stones. I like to cut a cross hatch pattern in the avocados so when I scoop them out they’re already cut up in little pieces. Scoop the avocados into a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Mix and let sit to get all the flavours working together.
