I have heard about the vegetarian diner Hunter Gatherer from friends raving about its comfort food, and I finally checked it out!
It’s located on 15th Ave in central Regina and has a quirky vintage vibe that I really liked. Old framed paintings, scrabble boards for wall paper and vintage suitcases stacked on the wall. Interesting choice for a vegetarian place to have animal heads on the wall.
The food really is comfort vs greens. The portion sizes are large and the fries are exceptional (and came highly recommended by friends). I had mine with the Kentucky Fried Tofu wrap. The spicy mayo gave the tofu a great kick … very filling.
My friend had the Usual Burger – her usual black bean burger order. Looked delicious and large.
We went in the middle of the week and the restaurant was quite busy, I’m glad to see this local diner doing well and I will definitely visit again!
