Among the amazing things we love about Negril are all the small food stores and stalls that line the one main street from the cliffs to the beach.
I had never tried Jamaican patties before, so David ran to the “Out of Town” pastry and grocery store nearby one morning. What a wonderful (and cheap) breakfast! Light and fluffy pastry filled with meat and another with a veggie filling. The pineapple and orange juice was also delicious. All for $6 US. I am a fan!
Fruit stands are also aplenty, and this is the second trip where we have stopped at Pamela’s fruit stand closer to the beach. She has a great selection. We overpaid for our pineapple, mango and guava – but we did so willingly. Pamela knew this, and threw in two little “brother” bananas for good measure. We are enjoying this fantastic fruit with coffee for breakfast now. I could get used to this!
