While doing research for trips over the past few years, David and I always check out Mandarin Oriental hotels. Then we continue the search after seeing the price. Las Vegas is a different story.
We found a great package deal for a Junior Suite – ‘Suite Temptations.’ Stay three nights and get the fourth night free, a $52 breakfast credit each morning, and a $100 spa credit. We decided it was worth a splurge (coming to about $325/night with the free night factored in) and completely took advantage of it!
We arrived early, and were greeted with a complimentary upgrade to a Junior corner suite with a strip view. Nice! We had a wait of only 30 minutes and were called when the room was ready.
Basically, a junior suite is a triangle shape, with floor to ceiling windows all around. You enter to a large sitting room, then move through the large bedroom (where the corner is, for spectacular views all around).
You then move through a smaller corridor to the very large and wonderful bathroom, and additional closet/drawer space. This bathroom and the huge tub was the highlight of this trip for me. Baths with complimentary bath salts and a beautiful view!
Thanks to the package deal, we had spectacular breakfasts each and every morning. The first was in our room, and then we moved to the MOzen bistro for the rest of the trip. So many healthy and unique options (eggs and quinoa, eggs rancheros, tofu scramble). While not fully covered, these breakfasts ended up being heavily subsidized and a great start to the day for foodies like us!
This was the ultimate “anti-Vegas” vacation for David and I. If you are looking for all relaxation with beautiful touches and lots of romantic ambience, a suite at the Mandarin Oriental is for you!
