What a great view of Las Vegas, and fantastic cocktails!
The Mandarin Bar at the Mandarin Oriental hotel on the Strip is a beautiful and tranquil refuge from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. I love the Asian aesthetic of this hotel. The photo below is from the lobby area.
When you enter the hotel from the main floor, you notice right away that there is no casino (so it is blissfully quiet) and you take an elevator to the 23rd floor where the main lobby is and where Mandarin Bar is located. You can see the lounge from the street – the really large windows are evident!
The view from Mandarin Bar is spectacular, and the lounge itself is hip and dark (so you can really enjoy that view at night). We really enjoyed watching all the planes line up and land (the airport and landing strip is so close to the Strip). It was quite amazing to see up to five planes lined up at a time in the night sky coming in for a landing (you can see the planes as two lights in the sky in the photo below).
The cocktails are pricey (but really, not much more than any other lounge on the strip). And you get some really great bar snacks to go along with those drinks (and replenished as you run out).
This is a place I have wanted to visit before, and am really glad David and I got to experience it together! The only thing I would change would be to make sure I was a little more dolled up – we went there after a busy day walking around and I felt a little underdressed for sure. But, we still got stellar service!
