David and I are big fans of David Chang restaurants. Momofuku in the Cosmopolitan Hotel was a must visit for us, and it did not disappoint.

Because we didn’t have reservations, we sat at the bar, right under the “drinks sign” (which helped with photo lighting compared to the darker restaurant). The decor all around was quite fun and the ambience was casual and full of energy.

We started with steamed buns because Chang and Momofuku is so known for that. I had the special spam bun (a countrified ham, not the real deal… not that I’m sticking up my nose to that!). It was really unique with nori wrapped around the bun and a special sauce that made it salty mixed with slight sweetness.

The pork belly bun was a messy gooey fun delicious few bites! The pork belly was melt in your mouth and the pickled cucumbers were a great counterpoint. It was especially gooey with Momofuku’s Ssam sauce added to it. We loved that so much we bought a bottle to take home.

We shared our main courses of the night. My ginger scallion noodles were cold and light and mixed with pickled cucumbers and shiitake mushrooms that exploded with flavour. It had some kind of light sauce that was fantastic. It was also a vegan dish I learned.

David’s Jidori half chicken was flavoured perfectly and the skin crisped up to perfection.

We loved Momofuku for a fun, casual and delicious night out in Vegas at on of our favourite hotels for dining.
