Whenever David is running a race, we like to look for a condo to rent whenever possible. The kitchen is great for quick and healthy breakfasts, and a washer and dryer is a real bonus (you have no idea how much laundry triathletes have)!
For this visit, we checked out VRBO and found a great one bedroom condo a half black from the beach (you can see it from the big peach on the beach). It was a perfect location for both of us, also a block from the transition zone of the Challenge Penticton triathlon.
The building is nice and secure, and seemed to be mainly vacation rentals with covered parking – our spot was quite the tight squeeze for David’s car!
The open layout was perfect for us – we especially enjoyed the small nook by the windows to have our coffee in the morning. We also spent some time out on the balcony in the evenings.
The bedroom was a little on the small side, only because the king size bed took up most of the space. It was a really comfortable bed, but the bedframe jutted out quite a bit and both of us banged our legs on it more than once!
The only downside was something you can’t control. There was a group of two older couples staying in the condo above us, and they were serious stomper mc’stompersons!! Not only did they make a lot of noise walking around in their shoes on the hardwood floors above us, but they were quite the partiers and were pretty annoying a couple of nights.
Overall, we really enjoyed this condo and had a great vacation. The rate was very reasonable and the process for booking and the information we were provided to check in (along with a great binder on the area) was excellent. There was even a welcome basket of goodies for our stay.
If you are looking to visit Penticton, we highly recommend this condo!
