The first dinner in Vegas was a huge hit! We hoped Rose. Rabbit. Lie. at the Cosmopolitan hotel would be a unique and delicious experience, and it really was!

Rose. Rabbit. Lie. is part supper club, entertainment, lounge and restaurant. When we arrive, we noticed a bunch of other doors that open up when larger crowds arrived. For a Wednesday night it was probably a bit quite for them, but a really nice ambience for us. The place is aglow in purple light (so we have to note that a lot of our photos are dark with a purple tinge).

We were seated right behind the stage, so the drummer of an excellent jazz band was right behind me. Our side was more the restaurant side, and the side with a better view of the band was more like a lounge. Both sides had incredible entertainment for the night, with two different female singers and a tight band really knocking it out of the park. Wonderful to listen to!!

When the band wasn’t performing, a screen automatically came up behind me, separating the two spaces. It was much quieter then, and we could focus on our exceptional food and drink. I absolutely loved my Peruvian Sour, which reminded me of my trip to South America. Pisco liquor mixed with lime, Yerba mate, lavender and egg white was the perfect hint of sour. David chose his stand-by Sazerac whisky and cognac blend, and later tried a scotch drink called Mark Twain. Excellent cocktails!

Our dinner was a progression of small plates that we shared. It’s always fun to eat this way, and the timing of the plates and the order they were brought in was perfect. Exceptional service here.

We started with a smoked beet dish that was fresh and flavourful, and moved on to brussel sprouts with bacon – a real stand out dish for us.

Our next two dishes of a porcini flatbread and sea scallops were delicous. Both very fresh and delightful.

The real hit of the night was our last dish – a Jidori chicken – perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken with wonderful tomato braised lentils. This dish had a great bold and balanced flavour.
