I love it when a highly recommended restaurant lives up to the hype! I have had that experience a few times in Toronto already … and Salad King is now my new favourite lunch spot!
Almost hidden with a narrow door just south of Eaton’s Centre on Yonge, Salad King is up a flight of stairs.
The moment you reach the top, it is bright and vibrant and packed with people (a lot of students from nearby Ryerson). This Thai restaurant is my friend CA’s find and it was fun to lunch here with him.
It was also fun to order something that is not on the menu but all over the internet as a recommendation – Islamic Noodles.
The dish is actually a mix of two items in the menu – hot Thai noodles (rice noodles, broccoli, carrots, onions, bell pepper, mushrooms and egg) and Panang Curry (sweet Asian basil, peanuts lime, and bell peppers in panang curry with coconut milk). It is messy and spicy (depending on the number of chilies you choose) and so yummy! I absolutely love Salad King!
If you visit here be sure to also visit the restrooms! They are a real giggle!
