There is nothing like sitting at a balcony table in a restaurant with a water view (in this case Lake Okanagan in Penticton), feeling sunshine and the breeze on your face… and having a tasty meal at the same time! This was our view at Salty’s Beach House in Penticton:

We have been here before, two years ago when Dave did the Ironman Triathlon for the second time (he introduced me to the place). This time around, we are back for his Challenge Penticton race, and our first stop was Salty’s… and our first dish was west coast oysters! They were huge and tasty, with horseradish, seafood sauce and some kind of vinegar and onion concoction to accompany them. Delicious (though a little hard to eat because they were so large!).

I enjoyed the fish tacos again, because I remembered them so fondly from my last visit. I love the shrimp and bits of onion rings and guacamole – very fresh.

Dave chose a pasta dish – the Diavola – with tomatoes, capers, kalamata olives with shrimp, clams, mussels and scallops in a tomato sauce.

Both of us really enjoyed our dinner, and the stunning view. A perfect start to our week in Pentiction.
