I grew up in Saskatoon, and for as long as I can remember, the Sheraton Cavalier has been one of the best hotels in the city. Now that I live in Regina, I have enjoyed it as a visitor to the city on occasion.
David and I recently visited my family in Saskatoon, and decided to stay at the Sheraton to get a little mini vacation in before our trip to Penticton at the end of August. We also thought it would be fun to share some perks with the family – mostly that waterpark!
The moment we walked into the room, we immediately opened the curtains to a wonderful view of the river – the river view is always worth it in Saskatoon!
The room itself was super-spacious, with a very comfortable bed and a large kitchen vanity (important for all my products)!
I am a big fan of the Starwood chain of hotels and their “club lounge” floor option, and we chose it here. It costs a little more, but there are great things included in that price – parking, usually less kids and parties on the floor, and breakfast and early evening appetizers available in the Club Lounge itself. David and I really took advantage of the Club Lounge – great coffee and a hot breakfast with eggs and bacon in the morning, lots of drink options and nachos one night for appetizers. Really delicious and fun too.
The best part of all was being so close to the Meewasin Trail for walks, the waterslide and pool for fun with my family (the outdoor deck is great for a hot summer day). A great mini vacation!
