I thought it was about time I tried one of the restaurants right in the Encore resort for dinner. I chose Society Cafe for it’s bright and fun decor and small but promising menu.
The service from start to finish (hostess, server and dish runner) was excellent. Always polite and checking on me, but not obtrusive. The food was absolutely delicious too.
The dinner began with Society Cafe’s version of bread on the table – pretzels with a grainy mustard aioli dip. I love the salty pretzel, and the dip had a hint of something like maple in their too. A savoury and sweet sensation. Very nice.
I started with a tomato bisque soup. It was incredibly fresh and had that new tomato/made at home taste (but way better than made at home). I really enjoyed it.
My entree was a roasted salmon with quinoa, shaved brussel sprouts (loved!) and a chimichurri glaze. It was a very pretty plate, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. There was a touch of citrus in the glaze that I also really enjoyed.
Overall, my visit to Society Cafe was very enjoyable, and not very pricey. All together, with a glass of wine, my dinner came to under $50 – a nice affordable night out.
