You can’t come to Vancouver and not spend some time in Stanley Park. It was one of the things David and I were most looking forward to, and we had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy it.
After a long walk up Robson Street, we turned down Denman and into a cute little harbour and the entry way into the Park.
I am impressed by the lanes marked for pedestrians only and cyclists only. I wasn’t so impressed by the large families that walked five abreast and blocked the pedestrian path and forced us into the cyclist path to get by.
It really is a beautiful walk along the seawall, with a great view of boats, the city and birds.
David ran all the way around Stanley Park one day, but together we walked about as far as the Totem Poles before turning back to find Kingyo Izakaya for lunch. The totems are really fun to see and a great resting spot while you enjoy their beauty.
We thought about taking a ride around the park at some point on our trip – either the hop on hop off bus or a leisurely horse drawn carriage ride – but decided that we were happy with what we saw (though I hear they are great options to choose). Beautiful park!
