Every time David and I are in Penticton, we make sure to stop a The Bench for breakfast or lunch. It is always packed with people when we go (always a good sign), and it’s always worth the wait.

Ingredients are fresh and local, and the options are endless. It’s also fun to check out cool drinks… like this intergalactic root beer David picked.

I chose the turkey wrap and kale, and black bean salad – thinking the turkey wrap would be relatively small. Yeah, not so much! The filling was incredible – roasted turkey with a ton of veggies including squash – making it really delightful and surprising. The side salad was refereshing with a strong lime and cilantro taste.

David chose the sicilian panini, and loved the richness of the mix of cappicola, salami, cheese and artichoke. His beet and chickpea side salad was original and highlighted the beets well.

When in Penticton, never miss the chance to visit The Bench (on the road up the hill to the Naramata Bench area and wineries).
