Within a couple of hours of landing in Toronto, I was already wandering the streets of downtown with thousands of Jays fans on their way to an important wild card game (they won).
I met my cousin Michael (a very ardent and hopeful Jays fan) at one of his favourite spots The Wide Open on Richmond and Spadina.
He lovingly calls it a hole in the wall, as the long and narrow space definitely is not wide open and filled with graffiti.
It’s also got cheap beer for $3.50. And it was very good beer!
I can totally see why my cousin likes this place so much, and would totally come here again if I was looking for a fun and cheap spot for a beer and a chat with friends.
