It’s the most wonderful thing when something you are looking forward to lives up to your expectations. That’s how I felt about my experience at the Encore Spa in Las Vegas. It was absolute heaven!
This trip to Las Vegas was a decision to treat myself after a particularly busy time and my trip to Portugal fell through. I wanted to stay at the Encore Hotel (always a dream), do all my Christmas shopping at my own pace (done!) and have a luxury spa experience that I usually wouldn’t spend so much on. This trip was a great decision that I have fully enjoyed – and the spa was the hit of the trip for me.
I decided to have my spa day on my last full day in Vegas. I figured that I would be tired from all the walking and shopping and ready for some pampering (I was right). The moment you walk into the spa, you know you are in for something special. It is zen personified – gold and white accents and buddha statues – love, love, love!
Once inside the spa, there are lovely dressing room areas, private showers, a wet eucalyptus sauna and a dry sauna, rainfall showers, two jacuzzi pools and two cold plunge pools. Anyone staying at the hotel can access this area (for a fee of course – I think $25). It’s a great way to pamper yourself on a budget (I did this once before while staying at the Aria and it was wonderfully relaxing).
One tip I can give anyone in Vegas is to schedule your treatment or visit the spa area early in the day. My appointment was 11 a.m. and I came in at 10 a.m. to enjoy the pools and sauna first. I was completely alone and loved it! The dry sauna, jacuzzi pools and heated lounge chairs are lovely and the relaxing music did the trick – I almost fell asleep.
By about 10:30 a.m., more women were starting to come in and get tours. I high-tailed it out of there about 10:40 a.m. to start getting ready for my treatment, and at 10:45 a.m. I could hear screeching and laughing all throughout the pool area as groups of women came in with the typical Vegas attitude (it was very busy at the pools after my treatment as well). Again, get there early and you will likely avoid this.
You enter a quiet tranquility room with relaxing loungers to await your therapist for your treatment. Again, lovely. Then, you are escorted into a beautiful hallway lined with gold lamps and buddhas to get to your treatment room. So beautiful!
My first treatment was the Good Luck Ritual 80 minute massage. It includes a fusion massage, scalp massage, peppermint foot treatment and hand treatment. At $280 this is not cheap, but it was the best massage I have had in my life. The room, the experienced and lovely massage therapist and the wonderful aromatherapy oils were fantastic. Again, best massage ever.
A little later I went into my second treatment of the day, a 50 minute Fusion Facial for $170. Again, my therapist was lovely and knowledgable (the service from everyone here was definitely always exceptional). The facial was very relaxing and my skin glowed following the botanical treatment (and still feels super soft). I have sensitive skin, so the organic line they use here is perfect for me.
Earlier in the week I also had a pedicure at the salon on the same level as the spa. For me, it was just ok. Without the ambience of the spa it was like any other pedicure, and I likely wouldn’t spend $100 on that again.
Overall… the Encore Spa earns its five star reputation and then some! If you are looking for the ultimate pampering experience… this is it!
